I have a beloved friend. Yes, I have human friends, but I am speaking about my pet. I have had several pass away in the past couple of years and one who is very old in human years. I have grieved over their passing and have wondered if I would see them in Heaven. Most people would say the answer is no because they don’t have souls. However, Isaiah 11:6 gives me hope when it says “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.” So, knowing that scripture tell me that animals will be there gives me hope that I will see my friends again. God cares for all his creation. I hope to see my pets there and I hope to see you there someday too. God bless you!
How Do You Handle Trouble?
Trouble can be a good thing or a bad thing. It can harden our heart and make us angry and bitter or it can bring us closer to God and strengthen our trust in Him. Even when Jesus was going to the cross for us he was trusting in his Father. Psalm 73:26 teaches us “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever.” When trials come – and they will – put your trust in Him. God bless you!
Go On – Admit it
Part of being reconciled to God is admitting that we are wrong and He is always right. All He seeks is our humble confession of guilt. In Nehemiah 9:33 the Israelites freely admitted this point when they said, “Howbeit thou are just in all that is brought upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly.” We essentially say the same thing to God when we repent. If God says our actions are wrong, we must also say it. I’m glad we serve a forgiving God who is always right. God bless you today!
Take Time to Pray
How many of us get up in the morning, say our prayers, and go on with our day? We miss some great opportunities to speak with our heavenly Father. Try praying when taking a walk, when you are driving to work (keep your eyes open), or when you are just sitting. When you say you’ll pray for someone, do it right then, in person or over the phone. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says “Pray without ceasing.” So let’s do it. God bless you and God bless Israel!
What Are Your Secrets?
Many people have secrets or things they keep hidden. Maybe they are unconfessed sins, thoughts of insecurity, feelings of resentment or anger, or maybe just things they keep buried in their hearts. There is one from whom nothing can be hidden: God! Hebrews 4:13 says “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” Let’s freely tell him what He already knows! He loves us and wants us to share our secrets with him! God Bless you in all you think, say, and do.
What Are You Seeking?
Some people seek fortune, some fame. Others seek knowledge or truth. Mathematicians seek answers to complex formulas, astronomers seek to unlock the secrets of the universe. The truth is, most people are seeking something: love, joy, friendship, happiness, peace. Unfortunately, most seek answers from the world. As believers, we know where to look and what to look for. Colossians 3:1 tells us: “If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.” I pray you are seeking Him first today. God bless you!
Which Way Do I Go?
Have you ever been lost and had no sense of direction? This can happen to us both in travel or in life in general. Happily, when we feel lost, the bible is our compass and God is our guide. In Psalm 32:8 God says “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way thou shall go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” God will always show us the correct way. May He richly bless you today!
Are We Good Enough?
Have you ever felt like you are just not good enough to serve God, or felt like you don’t have the skill or talent to make a difference? The truth is, without Him we don’t. Thankfully, scripture is full of promises to assure us that we can work for Him with confidence. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” I believe that as long as you are serving Him faithfully, no matter how big or small the task, you are good enough! Are Your Prayers Heard?
Do you ever wonder if your prayers are being accepted? Are they short or long enough? Are they too flowery? Are they humble enough? I think King David might have wondered that as well. In Psalm 19:14 he said “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” The truth is, prayer is a conversation with God and he wants to hear from us. It’s part of our relationship with Him! He is listening no matter what we want to say. Have you spoken to Him today? God bless you.
Discipline Equals Love
Did you ever hear this from your mother or father: “this is going to hurt me more than it hurts you?” Discipline is given out of love…. God hates sin and we are all sinners, so sometimes he must discipline us, BUT, in the midst of God’s punishments he shows mercy and love. Even when we are bearing the consequences of sin He is walking with us. Titus 3:4-5 says “But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of rightousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.” Don’t forget to thank Him today for his endless love – He loves us even when we have failed him.
