Tony Kelly – Pastor
Tony Kelly is a caring Pastor who acknowledges that his daily goal is to help someone who could never repay him. He transfers that same emotion to his New Journey Baptist Church family as pastor. Pastor Kelly enjoys taking a leadership role in life.
Tony attended Lynchburg Bible Institute and Luther Rice Seminary and has completed studies in Bible Theology and Pastoral Counseling. He has served as Minister of Music at three churches, Assistant Pastor/Pastor at two churches, and currently serves as the founding Pastor of New Journey Baptist Church in Tallahassee, Florida.
Tony married his wife Rhonda Lieb Kelly, a 2nd generation preacher’s daughter. Tony and Rhonda have three adult daughters: Tonya, Tara and Trina. They have 6 grandchildren, 2 girls and 4 boys.
Alan Risk – Associate Pastor/Education Minister
Alan is a West Virginia native transplanted to Florida. Alan attended FSU on a football scholarship.
Alan says that the greatest decision he made during his career at FSU was the night he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior, a decision that not only made a difference for eternity, but also led Alan to a life of ministry and ordination to preach the Gospel .
Alan married his junior high sweetheart, Susan Powel, and the Lord has blessed them with six children and seven grandchildren.
Joe Holland – Deacon
Joe is married to Inita Putman Holland, from Hosford, Florida. Joe and Inita have two daughters, Kimberly and Becky. They have two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Joe accepted the Lord as his personal savior under the Ministry of Dr. Robert Taylor, Southside Baptist Church and now serves as the adult bible teacher at New Journey Baptist Church. He also serves as a Deacon for New Journey Baptist Church and plays guitar for the New Journey Church Band and has on occasions filled in for the pastor in his absence.
Rick Sanborn – Deacon
Rick began his walk with the Lord in 1976 and has served at various churches since then, helping in whatever way God leads. At New Journey, Rick serves in several roles, including Deacon, greeter, usher, Sunday School teacher, videographer, as well as working on the website. Rick has been married to Charlotte for over 40 years and together they have three children and six grandchildren.
Dave Gantt – Deacon
David helps at the Church with the witnessing effort to expand the Body of Christ. Also, he works at maintenance and facility repairs.
He was born in St. Petersburg, Fl. and came to FSU in 1965. More importantly, David was Born Again in Tallahassee on March 2, 1998. He also graduated from The Faith Bible Institute.
David has served his Lord Jesus Christ teaching and coordinating children and teen programs for most of the years since being saved.
Judy Brooks – Treasurer
Judy Brooks was born in Tallahassee, FL and is married to Neil Brooks. Judy and Neil have one child and two granddaughters.
Judy accepted the Lord as her personal savior when she was in high school. Judy has a background in bookkeeping and financial services. She serves on the New Journey Baptist Church Finance Team and is our church bookkeeper and financial advisor.
Carol Jones – Financial Coordinator
Carol is a charter member and was instrumental in the founding of New Journey Baptist Church. She offered her day care center as the first meeting place for services.
Ms. Jones assists with church finance obligations and serves on the Finance Committee.
Glenda Money – Secretary
Glenda (Woodham) Money is a Tallahassee native and is married to Ken Money. Glenda serves NJBC as Church Secretary, Children’s Sunday School Teacher and Event Coordinator. She has an unwavering commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
