Forgiveness

At some point in our lives, we have all had to apologize for something or to someone, asking for forgiveness. Whether it be for an innocent remark that hurts a person’s feelings, betraying a confidence, or for physical or emotional damage as in a car accident. Asking for forgiveness can be hard, as in David’s case. He gave a heartfelt apology, begging for forgiveness. In Psalm 51, he said, “Have mercy upon me, O God….For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only have I sinned….” When we sin and repent, we are doing the same thing as King David. The important thing is that we need to ask for forgiveness daily.
